A cyclist aged 77 is on the mend after an astonishing survival story unfolded in the rugged terrains of France. The man survived a 130-foot fall into a ravine and endured three days there, sustained by red wine he had purchased from a local supermarket, as reported by various news outlets.

The incident occurred when the elderly cyclist, on his way back from a grocery trip, failed to navigate a curve on a winding mountain road in the Cevennes region. This misstep launched him down a jagged slope near Saint-Julien-des-Points, according to CBS News.

Incredibly, his grocery haul, including a modest supply of food and several bottles of wine, remained intact during the fall, landing alongside him at the base of the ravine near the Gardon river.
