Authorities are urging anyone who may have fallen victim to a man accused of rape and assault in a quaint Queensland community to step forward.
The 45-year-old suspect, hailing from Amamoor near Gympie, faces charges of physically and sexually attacking a woman in October. The alleged incidents occurred at a location where both individuals resided independently.
The victim, a woman in her sixties, was known to the accused.
Detective Acting Sergeant Kiel Duggen from the Gympie Criminal Investigation Branch is reaching out for any additional victims who may have lived at the same property.
“We have reason to suspect there could be others who have suffered similar offenses at the hands of this individual and have yet to report it,” stated Detective Acting Sergeant Duggen.
“We assure you that your experiences will be handled with the utmost care, respect, and confidentiality.”
“Please be assured that we’ll treat you and your story with sensitivity, dignity and respect.”
The man has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Gympie Magistrates Court on January 19, 2026.
