In a tragic incident in Mandarin, Jacksonville, authorities have apprehended a suspect connected to the fatal shooting of a young woman. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office confirmed the arrest of 31-year-old Randy Campbell, who is accused of the murder of 24-year-old Cherrish Nunley.
Nunley was discovered shot dead in the parking lot of Chuze Fitness, located near the intersection of San Jose Boulevard and Sunbeam Road, on Saturday, November 15. The alarming event has shaken the local community.
Following an intensive search, investigators, aided by the U.S. Marshal Task Force, tracked Campbell to Dallas, Texas. Local police there arrested him on November 18, just three days after the incident.
According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Campbell will be returned to Jacksonville after all legal procedures are completed. “Campbell will be extradited back to Jacksonville once the appropriate legal process is complete,” the office stated in their announcement of his capture.
With the help of the U.S. Marshal Task Force, JSO says investigators were able to track Campbell to Dallas, Texas, where he was arrested by local police.
“Campbell will be extradited back to Jacksonville once the appropriate legal process is complete,” JSO said in the announcement of his arrest.
Nunley’s family says she leaves behind two young children.

“She was killed in cold blood,” her sister, Justine, wrote. “She never got into trouble. She was a bright, beautiful girl, a wonderful mom and aunt, the best sister, and a great daughter. We will forever remember her, and she will not be another statistic. We will fight for justice. We will fight for her babies. We will fight for her.”
A GoFundMe has been created to cover Nunley’s funeral service costs and to support her children.
