In the unfolding case of Anna Kepner’s tragic death, new revelations have surfaced during a family court session. This session was convened to address Thomas Hudson’s urgent plea for custody of the 9-year-old daughter he shares with Shauntel Hudson.
Thomas Hudson has expressed grave concerns regarding the safety of his daughter while living under the care of Shauntel Hudson and Christopher Kepner. He points to their apparent lack of supervision over their older children during a cruise that he had initially opposed as evidence of their neglect.
In a startling admission, Shauntel Hudson, who is Anna’s stepmother, revealed that her 16-year-old son is currently the sole suspect in the investigation into Anna’s murder. Her younger son, Connor, has been officially cleared of any involvement in the incident.
Hudson’s legal team remains uncertain about the course the FBI will take—whether they will pursue federal charges or defer the case to state authorities for further action.
During the proceedings, Shauntel also disclosed that her 16-year-old son was under psychiatric observation but has since been released to the care of her relatives. She emphasized that, regardless of the FBI’s eventual decision, her son will not be returning to the home she shares with Christopher Kepner and the other three children.
Adding complexity to the situation, Shauntel’s oldest son, Andrew, testified that his mother had permitted him to consume alcohol in the past. This claim was further corroborated by Sonya Ziske, Shauntel’s stepmother, adding another layer of concern regarding the household’s environment.
Ziske witnessed Shauntel’s pour herself and both of her sons, 16 and 14 at the time, a shot of liquor.
