Erika Kirk Torches Leftist Ghouls Celebrating Charlie’s Murder in Explosive Town Hall: Sick in Your Soul

Erika Kirk, the widow of the slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk, has strongly criticized those who are celebrating her husband’s tragic death, describing such reactions as “sick” and dehumanizing.

Her comments came during a preview clip for a town hall discussion moderated by Bari Weiss, editor-in-chief of CBS News. This segment featured questions from an audience, providing a platform for a diverse range of voices.

In the discussion, Weiss highlighted the unsettling response from certain segments of the left-wing community to Charlie Kirk’s murder. She noted that some individuals seemed to believe that his controversial or allegedly hateful views justified his untimely death.

Addressing this perspective, Weiss asked Erika Kirk how she would respond to those who attempt to rationalize her husband’s killing.

After taking a moment to compose herself, Mrs. Kirk responded with a powerful and direct message, as though speaking directly to those who held such views.

“You’re sick. He’s a human being,” she stated, her words laced with both emotion and firmness. “You think he deserved that? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter.”

“You want to watch in high-res the video of my husband being murdered, and laugh, and say he deserves it?” Kirk continued. “There’s something very sick in your soul, and I’m praying that God saves you.”

Would that be an appropriate level of anger and disgust, Temu Skeletor Jennifer Welch? Because it sure seemed like a proper level for the sick bastards on social media and podcast land who have smeared Erika for not sufficiently grieving in a manner they see fit.

Mrs. Kirk seems fed up with some of the insanity that’s taking place in the darkest shadows of social media, the lone place where gutter dwellers can get away with saying the most vile of things to people they’d never even approach in real life.

During an appearance earlier this week on Fox News, she was asked about the accusations and claims floated by desperate-for-attention podcasters like Candace Owens and others surrounding the assassination of her husband.

“Can I have one thing? Can my babies have one thing where we hold it sacred, where my husband is laid to rest?” Kirk asked. “Where I don’t have to be worried about some secular revolutionary coming and destroying my husband’s grave, while my daughter is sitting there praying. One thing?”

I want to take a moment to address one point made by Weiss in the clip above. The deplorable idea that Charlie somehow deserved to be murdered is “not just online,” as the new CBS News editor-in-chief points out.

We’ve seen countless examples of this open celebration of political assassinations on college campuses since the attack on Charlie. At Talking Point USA events. At music festivals. On the streets.

Have you seen a coordinated effort to denounce these people from anywhere other than conservative spaces like this one? Have the media or lawmakers sternly advised people to take it down a notch? No, if anything, they’ve amped up the violent rhetoric on their behalf. Or, “Qui tacet consentire videtur.”

Combine that with the fact that studies have shown the left side of the political spectrum fully embracing an “assassination culture,” and you have a recipe for further violence against conservatives in this country. Because there is no moral compass guiding these deranged people.

The left in this country has set the foundation for, God forbid, something much worse down the line. Why? Because they aren’t just being shunned from society any longer. They no longer feel compelled to hide their darkest thoughts online.

Whether it be a TPUSA event, CPAC, the March for Life, etc., the left has willingly given those who feel it’s okay to kill people they disagree with the matches and the kindling to crank things up. And all it takes is for one person who, as Erika states, is “sick in (their) soul” to do it again, or do it to a far greater degree.

The one-hour town hall with Erika Kirk is set to air on Saturday at 8 p.m. ET/CT on CBS.
