Tourist stabbed multiple times at NYC's iconic Macy's during holiday shopping rush

A shocking incident unfolded at Macy’s Herald Square in New York City on Thursday, where a woman was stabbed several times, Fox News Digital reports.

The victim, a 38-year-old woman from California, was shopping with her husband when she was attacked, according to information from the New York Post.

The New York Police Department informed Fox News Digital that the woman, aged 39, sustained multiple stab wounds to her back and a cut on her left arm. She was promptly taken to Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition.

The stabbing reportedly took place in the seventh-floor restroom of the famed department store, as reported by the Post.

Sources from law enforcement revealed to the Post that the victim, a civilian employee of the sheriff’s office in Jurupa Valley, was visiting New York with her husband, who serves as a sheriff.

The NYPD identified the individual who was arrested and charged in connection with the attack as 43-year-old Kerri Aheme of Tewksbury, Mass. Aheme has been charged with attempted murder, two counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child, according to the NYPD. The Post reported that Aheme was homeless.
