Mom Still Missing Nearly a Week After She Told Family She’d Be Home in an Hour

A homicide investigation has been launched following the discovery of a body in a car on Thursday, identified as Frezja Baker, a woman from North Carolina who had been missing for a week.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has confirmed that the deceased woman found in a vehicle behind an abandoned church in Charlotte is indeed 31-year-old Frezja Baker. Her disappearance was reported on December 4, shortly after she left a Quick N E-Z Food Mart situated about a mile and a half from where her body was eventually discovered, according to reports from WBTV.

Baker’s brother shared with the media outlet that she had dropped off her 2-year-old son at their grandparents’ residence earlier that day. Later that evening, she reportedly contacted her brother, indicating she was an hour away, but she never made it to her destination.

WSOC-TV has reported that Baker’s death is currently being treated as a homicide. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the authorities have not yet disclosed the cause of her death.
