Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has addressed the arrest of a Perth firearms owner who allegedly posted antisemitic remarks on social media.

“Antisemitism, hate, and violent ideologies have no place in Australia,” Albanese declared.

Martin Glynn, aged 39, was taken into custody at his residence in the southern suburbs of Perth. During the arrest, authorities reportedly confiscated flags associated with Hezbollah and Hamas.

In addition, police executed a search warrant at Glynn’s Yangebup home, uncovering a knife, six rifles, and 4,000 rounds of legally owned ammunition.

“I have been briefed on the recent arrest in Western Australia by the AFP Commissioner and the Acting WA Premier,” Albanese stated.

“I commend the swift action taken by the WA Police in identifying and apprehending this individual promptly,” he added.

“Federal agencies through the Joint Counter Terrorism Team have offered full support to WAPOL.”

Glynn is a licensed firearms holder and possessed several registered firearms and a quantity of ammunition which were seized by officers.

The man has been charged with conduct intended to racially harass, carrying or possessing a prohibited weapon and failing to store a firearm or related thing in compliant storage.

Police said the man’s eligibility to hold a firearms license will be subject to review.

He has been refused bail to appear before Fremantle Magistrates Court today.
