In the early hours of Sunday morning, a restaurant on Jacksonville’s Westside became the scene of chaos after a confrontation spiraled into a shooting, leaving three individuals injured. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the violent incident unfolded at Tipsy Bar And Grill around 3:30 a.m., when a dispute between a suspect and a security guard escalated dramatically.

The altercation reportedly began inside the establishment, where the suspect engaged in a physical fight with the security guard. The situation took a dangerous turn when the suspect brandished a firearm and opened fire, hitting a woman and two men. One of the victims was identified as a security guard employed at the restaurant.

In a swift response to the threat, another security guard managed to subdue the shooter, tackling him to the ground and restraining him until law enforcement arrived. The prompt action helped prevent further injuries and allowed officers to take the gunman into custody.

As the investigation continues, officials have confirmed that the injured individuals are currently receiving medical attention for their wounds. The incident highlights ongoing concerns about violence in public spaces, even as the community hopes for a swift recovery for those affected.

Another security guard tackled the suspect to the ground and held him until officers arrived, JSO said.

The gunman was taken into custody.

The three who were shot are at a hospital receiving treatment. JSO said they are stable and expected to recover.

The suspected shooter and the three who were shot are all reportedly in their 20s.

Officers are reviewing surveillance video and speaking to witnesses to learn more about what led up to the shooting. They believe this is an isolated incident.
