A kitchen worker from a Colorado high school has been taken into custody, facing serious allegations including incest and child sexual assault.
According to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement was tipped off about the possibility that John Michael Beccia Jr. possessed child pornography. This tip-off triggered an investigation, which has since uncovered additional charges.
The 35-year-old, Beccia, was apprehended on Wednesday and now faces charges that include aggravated incest, sexual assault on a minor by someone in a position of trust, and child sexual exploitation.
Employed as an assistant kitchen manager at Mountain Vista High School since November, Beccia has been placed on administrative leave and subsequently dismissed, according to the sheriff’s office.
Though specific details regarding the charges have not been disclosed, authorities have confirmed that no students from Mountain Vista have been identified as victims at this stage. The investigation remains active.
