Police Release Video of Person of Interest in Murders of Ohio Dentist and Wife

Authorities in Ohio have unveiled footage of an individual considered a “person of interest” in connection with the fatal shooting of a Columbus dentist and his spouse on December 30.

The Columbus Division of Police announced that they suspect Spencer and Monique Tepe were tragically shot in the upper level of their residence during the early hours, between 2 and 5 a.m. The released video captures a figure wearing jeans and a dark hoodie walking through an alleyway near the Tepe residence within that time frame.

The police were alerted later that day after 37-year-old Spencer Tepe failed to arrive at work, according to CrimeOnline. An officer who visited the house around 9 a.m. found no response at the door and subsequently left the premises.

Approximately an hour later, two additional calls were received by the police. One caller, a man at the scene, reported hearing children inside the home. Another call came from a concerned co-worker, who was en route to the location. Shortly thereafter, a friend of the family also contacted authorities after visiting the home, noticing the absence of response on the phone, and spotting Mr. Tepe’s body through a window.

Inside the home, the couple’s two young children, both under the age of six, were found unharmed.

“Our lives will never be the same again,” shared Rob Misleh, Spencer Tepe’s brother-in-law, in an interview with WSYX. “The children are doing well. They’re young and not fully aware of the situation. Right now, they are receiving all the love and care possible. The overwhelming support from the community has been incredible.”
