VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — In a heartfelt appeal, Essence Zhane, the sister of former NFL cornerback Samuel Beal, has taken to social media to seek public assistance in finding her brother, who has been missing for seven months.

Zhane implores anyone with information regarding Beal’s whereabouts to contact the Kenwood or Virginia Beach Police Department. Her plea highlights the urgency and concern surrounding Beal’s disappearance.

Beal, who gained recognition for his two-season stint with the New York Giants, has not been seen or heard from since March, leaving his family worried and desperate for answers.

“Tomorrow marks seven months since we last had any contact with my brother,” Zhane expressed in her Facebook post. “We’ve exhausted all efforts on our end to piece together what happened, and now we’re in dire need of help from the community.”

She continued, “I’m not here to address a multitude of questions—our primary goal is to ensure this message reaches the right people who can provide answers or closure.”

Conveying her emotional distress, Zhane added, “As his big sister, I want my brother to know that we love him and miss him dearly. Carrying this burden has been incredibly tough for months.”

According to information from the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, Beal was last seen by his girlfriend on July 12, 2025, after he dropped her off at a family member’s house.

Beal’s file states that he borrowed his girlfriend’s vehicle that day and was supposed to head to work; instead, he headed to Virginia Beach.

On a phone call with his girlfriend, Beal told her he was in Virginia Beach and was planning on heading back home — but he never arrived. Instead, the girlfriend’s vehicle was recovered in Virginia Beach. Beal’s shoes and socks were found on the floor of the front passenger seat along with some sand on the floor.

“Samuel did not bring anything with him aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet that contained his banking card and driver’s license,” Beal’s missing persons file stated.

Zhane hopes that someone will come forward with information on her brother’s whereabouts.
