Hilary Duff has left behind the drama surrounding Ashley Tisdale’s “toxic mom group” as she launched her highly anticipated Small Rooms, Big Nerves comeback tour in London on Monday. The tour’s first show took place at the sold-out O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.
The 38-year-old former Disney Channel icon dazzled the audience in a striking caped nude bodysuit adorned with oversized blue roses, complemented by white go-go boots. These fashion-forward choices were curated by stylist Caroline DeJean.
In a nostalgic nod to her fans, Duff closed her 17-song set with the debut live performance of “What Dreams Are Made Of,” the beloved theme song from the 2003 Lizzie McGuire Movie.
‘I think people are actually going to be surprised how many old songs I’m doing, and it’s going to really excite them,’ the blonde Texan – who boasts 46.2 million social media followers – teased in a TikTok posted Monday.
“When planning, I thought, ‘People don’t have the record yet.’ I’d be bored if I went to a concert and didn’t know the songs,” Duff explained. “I want to play what the fans really want to hear.”
For her triumphant return to the stage after an 18-year break, Duff also showcased her petite 5ft 2in frame in a stylish blue denim corset paired with matching baggy trousers.

“I feel ready for the tour,” Duff stated confidently. “We’ve rehearsed a lot, and I’ve had plenty of time to prepare. I wouldn’t say I know it inside and out, but I definitely know what I’m doing,” added the homeschooled millennial star.
‘All of the things that I’ve worked on and practiced will start to filter in naturally I think, but I have some fear right now for sure. Not fear, that’s too much – nerves, excitement, f***ing I’m pumped. This is what I want and it’s here.’
Duff ‘barely slept last night’ from nerves and caring for two of her children, who caught the flu sometime before the family touched down at Heathrow Airport last Friday.
‘It’s like all these things in my life happening, but those things are actually maybe like helping because they’re really normal and I can grasp on to them,’ the mother-of-four explained.
‘And this other part is not so normal.’
Also dutifully supporting Duff on her big night was her second husband Matthew Koma, who proudly Instastoried lots of footage of her from the sound booth.
‘That’s how it’s done wifey!’ the 38-year-old producer declared.
Koma (born Bair) was the primary producer on his Wifey’s first album in a decade, sixth studio album Luck… or Something, which doesn’t drop until February 20.
The Beverly Hills couple share three daughters – Banks, 7; Mae, 4; and Townes, 20 months – and she welcomed her 13-year-old son Luca during her six-year marriage to Mike Comrie, which ended in 2016.
Duff was still married to the 45-year-old retired NHL player when she first met Koma – who was dating Carly Rae Jepsen – while they collaborated on her 2015 album, Breathe In. Breathe Out.
The now inseparable pair might have split for six months in 2017, but they happily celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on December 21.
