The Archdiocese of Chicago has informed families within its Catholic school system about the dismissal of a teacher with a troubling history of child molestation allegations across Illinois and other states.

In the notification, it was revealed that the male educator had recently served as a substitute teacher at Queen of Martyrs Catholic School, located in Evergreen Park.

The letter also mentioned that over the past 16 months, the dismissed teacher had been employed at several South Side and South Suburban Catholic schools.

ABC7 Chicago has opted not to disclose the teacher’s identity, as no criminal charges have been filed against him.

The Archdiocese provided details on the teacher’s recent positions, including:
– Serving as a long-term substitute teacher at St. Walter-St. Benedict School in Chicago and Blue Island during the 2024-25 academic year.
– Employed by a third-party vendor and assigned to Pope John Paul II School in Chicago at the start of the 2025-26 school year.
– Acting as a private tutor for at least one family with a child attending a Catholic school in the south suburbs, with the possibility of additional families.
– Working as a substitute teacher at Queen of Martyrs School in Evergreen Park in January 2026.
