TUCSON, Ariz. — The FBI has unveiled videos featuring a “subject” linked to the ongoing investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s case.

FBI Director Kash Patel shared the footage on X, revealing a masked figure near the entrance of the Guthrie residence. The individual approaches a doorbell camera, obscures it with a fist, and then retreats. The person is dressed in long sleeves, pants, gloves, and carries a backpack.

Patel stated, “In collaboration with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the FBI has spent the past eight days diligently working with private sector allies to retrieve any lost or compromised images or videos from Nancy Guthrie’s home. This effort was necessary due to various factors, including the removal of recording devices.”

He added, “The newly recovered footage was extracted from residual data in backend systems. Through our partnership, law enforcement has accessed these previously unavailable images depicting an armed individual seemingly tampering with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning she vanished.”

Shortly after the images surfaced, NBC reporter Tom Winter highlighted that the Guthrie family could not identify the person shown. He also noted that the individual appeared to have a firearm tucked in the waistband.

Additionally, Savannah Guthrie, Nancy’s mother and an anchor on NBC’s “Today,” shared the images on her Instagram profile.

“We believe she is still alive,” she said. “Bring her home.”

About a half hour after the first video was released, the FBI posted a second video to its X account.

That video, three seconds long, shows the same person walking towards the door, but turning their face leftward away from the camera.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department echoed Patel’s message in an X post of their own.

Guthrie, 84, is the daughter of NBC’s “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie. She has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1.

So far, no suspects have been named in the case.
