An Arizona couple claims to have discovered a pair of blood-stained gloves and a rock with a dried blood droplet in the desert, roughly a mile from Nancy Guthrie’s residence, only days after her disappearance was reported. This discovery, detailed in a recent report, adds a new layer to the ongoing investigation.

The couple, who requested anonymity, came across the suspicious black gloves lying about ten feet apart near Campbell Avenue in Tucson’s Catalina Foothills on February 11, as reported by KVOA on Friday.

“We found a black glove in the desert, seemingly torn, with what looked to be blood on it. The blood was mostly near the wrist and on the index finger,” they explained to the news outlet.

Concerned that these items might be linked to the case involving the alleged kidnapping of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC “Today” host Savannah Guthrie, the couple promptly informed authorities.

Investigators have discovered several gloves in the Tucson neighborhood, which might match those reportedly worn by an armed suspect seen outside Guthrie’s home on the morning she disappeared, January 31.

“It seemed like these might have been used in connection with what authorities are searching for,” the woman told the news outlet.

The couple didn’t dare touch either glove, fearing they could contaminate any evidence, but snapped photos and looked over the worrisome scene.

A rock, the second glove was lying on, appeared to have at least one blood splatter.

“And also from the glove it looked like a blood drop on a rock underneath the glove was like dried blood or something. We didn’t move it or touch it. We immediately were like, we have to do something. So I was like I will call the sheriff department,” the husband said.

Investigators reported to the area where the couple was questioned and then allowed to leave.

The timeline of the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mom:

Officials had remained at the scene until 2 a.m., the outlet reported.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department did not say if the bloodied gloves were among the ones collected for DNA evidence, as the search for the elder Guthrie entered its 20th day Saturday.

“We cannot confirm at this time. Detectives and agents have collected multiple gloves from the area, and analysis is part of the investigation,” the department told the outlet.

DNA collected from other gloves has not matched any results in the FBI’s database, nor has any DNA evidence found inside Guthrie’s home.

Authorities had previously confirmed that the DNA on the glove was different from the DNA found in Nancy’s home.

The Post captured the moment FBI officials collected at least one glove off the side of the road, approximately one and a half miles from Guthrie’s home.

Officials said the black glove appeared to be the same kind worn by the unidentified masked suspect.

Authorities have not identified any suspects or persons of interest in Guthrie’s disappearance.
