Late Thursday evening, law enforcement apprehended a man for driving under the influence near Nancy Guthrie’s home in Arizona, following reports of suspicious behavior. Witnesses claim the individual drove past the residence “50 to 100 times,” all the while focusing intently on a photograph of the missing grandmother on his phone.

The peculiar scene unfolded in Tucson, where media personnel noticed the driver repeatedly circling the area in a blue vehicle. As reported by Brian Entin of NewsNation, the man would periodically stop to gaze at a memorial erected outside Guthrie’s home.

Allegedly, the driver had a picture of Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old missing mother displayed on his phone while inching by the house. This prompted concern and eventually led to intervention by local authorities.

Pima County Sheriff’s officers, responding to the odd behavior, halted the vehicle and engaged the driver in a roughly 20-minute inquiry. Following the interaction, the man, whose identity remains undisclosed, was arrested on a DUI charge after failing a sobriety test.

“It’s probably nothing, but it is weird,” Entin remarked, reflecting on the unsettling nature of the incident. “There are just some creepy people that come by.”

“It’s probably like nothing but, like, it is weird. There’s some just like some creepy people that come by,” he said.

The sheriff’s office hasn’t commented on the arrest.

It came just hours after the FBI pulled back much of its investigative team as the baffling saga surrounding Guthrie’s disappearance neared its fourth week.

Guthrie, the mom of “Today” show host Savannah, was reported missing on Feb. 1 after she didn’t show up to watch a church service.

Security footage recovered from Guthrie’s doorbell camera captured a masked man loitering on her doorstep the night police believe she was kidnapped.
