US officials reveal the urgency behind 'Operation Epic Fury' attack on Iran

The escalating threat posed by Iran’s missile capabilities has been deemed “intolerable” by the United States, particularly during recent negotiations where Iran rejected the proposal for “free nuclear fuel forever.” This escalating tension culminated in a significant military action on Saturday with an attack on Tehran.

In a detailed briefing, senior officials from the administration outlined the sequence of events leading to the launch of “Operation Epic Fury.”

An official highlighted the serious threat posed by Iran’s extensive missile arsenal, describing it as “an intolerable risk to the United States.”

The U.S. had intelligence suggesting that Tehran was preparing a preemptive strike against American interests in the region. This was evidenced by recent retaliatory attacks by Iran on U.S. bases in countries including Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain.

“The president was determined to not allow American forces in the region to become targets of conventional missile attacks. Our analysis showed that waiting for an initial strike would likely result in far greater casualties and damage. Acting preemptively in defense to thwart these missile launches was deemed the safer course,” explained the official.

Another senior administration official described the final talks in Geneva with Iranian officials and revealed the astonishing offer the Americans made.

“One of the things we offered – we said, we will give you free nuclear fuel forever,” the official said. “And they basically said that didn’t work for them. They needed to enrich uranium.”

The Trump administration said Iran’s nuclear capabilities were destroyed in Operation Midnight Hammer last year, but were concerned Tehran was preparing to ramp them up again.
