Texas bar shooting leaves multiple dead, injures up to 20 at Bufords Backyard Beer Garden

A tragic shooting at a Texas bar early Sunday morning resulted in multiple fatalities and left up to 20 individuals injured before law enforcement intervened and neutralized the shooter.

Authorities swiftly responded to the scene at Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden, located on the 600 block of Rio Grande Street in downtown Austin. According to police officials, at least 17 individuals were found with gunshot wounds, as reported by the Austin American-Statesman.

In confronting the armed suspect, officers discharged their weapons, ultimately killing the unidentified individual on-site.

In an official statement on X, the Austin Police Department characterized the event as a “shoot/stab hotshot incident” involving numerous victims.

Details regarding the condition of those injured have yet to be disclosed by the authorities.

The Austin Fire Department described the situation as an “Active Attack call” and advised the public to steer clear of the affected area.
