SEE IT: Southwest Airlines Passenger Forcefully Removed After Florida Flight Diverts to Atlanta

A Southwest Airlines flight en route to Florida made an unexpected landing on Friday night at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport due to a potential security issue.

Flight 2094, which departed from Tennessee and was heading to Fort Lauderdale, was redirected to Atlanta after the crew identified a “possible security matter” involving one of the passengers.

The aircraft touched down in Atlanta shortly after 9 p.m., where the passenger at the center of the issue disembarked.

Video footage obtained by The New York Post shows passengers with their hands raised, as the individual involved in the “security matter” was forcibly escorted off the plane.

The FBI and the Atlanta Police Department determined there was no threat after interviewing of the passenger, according to WSB-TV.

No charges will be filed, according to officials.

Southwest released a statement apologizing to its customers and thanking the crew.

“We appreciate the professionalism of our flight crew and apologize to our customers for the delay,” a Southwest spokesperson stated.

WSB-TV reported that the flight had been scheduled to its original destination a little after 11 p.m.

No official information has been released at this time about what the potential security issue entailed.
