In a recent address to Republican lawmakers, President Trump proudly highlighted the success of First Lady Melania Trump’s recent film, calling her a “movie star” and praising the film’s impact.
“Can you believe this? That movie was hot, and it is hot. She became a movie star,” President Trump remarked. “It was a good movie.”
The documentary, aptly named “Melania,” has shattered box office records since its debut, securing impressive opening figures.

Premiering at the Trump-Kennedy Center in January, the film documents the 20-day period leading up to President Trump’s inauguration.
Directed by Brett Ratner, “Melania” opened with a notable $7 million, surpassing recent popular releases like 2024’s “Am I Racist?” which had a $5.4 million opening, as reported by Deadline last month.
With a production budget of $40 million, the documentary is on course to become the highest-grossing non-fiction feature of the past decade, according to the First Lady.
Amazon MGM Studios and Muse Films, a production company launched by Melania late last year, produced the film.
It premiered on Amazon Prime on Monday.âYou will see humor, you will see grief, you will see fashion,â the first lady told reporters at the premiere when asked what the audience can expect.
She also noted that viewers would learn âwhat it takes from going from private citizen to first lady again.â
