Wine lovers are flocking to Napa Valley's hottest new eatery — and it isn't what you'd expect

Move over French Laundry, Napa Valley’s latest culinary sensation is not a chic new eatery, but something far more intimate and exclusive.

The buzz in California’s wine country centers around the home of chef Sarah Heller and her husband, renowned master sommelier Jason Heller, in Yountville.

The dynamic duo hosts an exclusive dining event called Pasta Lovers Club Napa, offering a five-course meal for a select group of 12 guests about twice a month. As reported by the San Francisco Chronicle, food enthusiasts are eagerly vying for a coveted spot at their table.

Once the Hellers announce a new dining date online, the limited seats are quickly claimed, often within minutes.

Guests are encouraged to bring along their own wine selections, as the Hellers are not licensed to sell alcohol. In the kitchen, the couple crafts exquisite dishes, with a particular focus on homemade pastas.

Jason handles the uncorking of the wine with precision, featuring an eclectic mix of rare and cherished bottles. This element of the evening adds a unique twist, transforming each gathering into a personalized tasting event curated by the guests themselves.

The pasta is handmade and seasonal. Diners savor classics like spaghetti and bucatini alongside rarer pressed shapes, the Chronicle writes.

Strangers quickly become companions, swapping stories, laughing, and tasting together. By the end of the night, some guests even leave with fresh pasta to take home, a small souvenir from a night that feels more like a secret gathering than a formal restaurant.

There is no official menu, no corkage fee, and no pretense. Guests sometimes open multiple bottles over the course of the evening.

Jason occasionally pulls special bottles from his own cellar, adding extra wine drama to the mix, according to the Chronicle.

The combination of pasta, personal wine, and intimate seating has turned the Hellers’ home into one of Napa Valley’s most talked-about culinary experiences.

People who normally chase French Laundry reservations are now chasing a spot at this communal table.

The Hellers have created a space where great food, great wine, and lively conversation collide — and diners leave feeling like they just discovered Napa’s best-kept secret, the Chronicle reports.
