NYC cops searching for missing mother with Alzheimer's

Authorities in New York City are actively searching for Octavila Lopez, a 76-year-old woman who went missing after becoming separated from her husband on the subway late Tuesday. The community is urged to assist in locating her.

Octavila Lopez, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, was last observed around 5:30 p.m. on a southbound 5 train at the Newkirk Avenue-Little Haiti station in Brooklyn. This location is approximately a mile away from her residence in East Flatbush, according to police reports.

Described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds, Lopez has brown eyes and gray hair. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a black jacket, black pants, and black shoes, and was carrying a black purse.

Lopez was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants, black shoes and carrying a black purse, cops said.
