The Prime Minister has expressed optimism that the conflict in the Middle East is nearing its conclusion, largely due to the United States’ success in dismantling Iran’s nuclear capabilities.
Anthony Albanese anticipates an end to the US and Israel’s military actions against Iran, now that the primary objective—reducing Tehran’s nuclear weapon potential—has been achieved.
In the wake of this conflict, global fuel prices have seen a significant spike. This increase is attributed to the closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran, a strategic passage for the world’s oil supply, as a retaliatory measure.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the ‘specific issue’ of preventing Tehran from developing nuclear weapons has been resolved.
Speaking on Triple M radio on Thursday, Albanese expressed his belief that the war is likely to conclude soon, allowing the world to regain its usual balance.
However, he cautioned that while the conflict may end, the aftermath will not be instantly resolved, indicating there will still be lingering effects.
