A thrilling video captures the heart-stopping moment when a New York State trooper narrowly escaped unharmed after a speeding SUV lost control, sparking a chain-reaction crash during a routine traffic stop.
The trooper, fortunate to survive, was hit by a Mercedes he had just pulled over when a 2007 Chevy Suburban slammed into his police car, pinning it between the two vehicles at approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday.
Body camera footage reveals the unidentified trooper conducting a traffic stop on the New York Thruway in Mamaroneck, just as the screeching Chevy barrels through, colliding with both cars.
The trooper can be heard groaning as he limps away from the wreckage, with his concerned partner immediately checking on his well-being.
“What the f—k,” the other trooper exclaims in the background.
Fortunately, the trooper sustained only minor injuries, while his partner emerged unscathed.
Other parts of the clip released by police show the other trooper get the driver of the Chevy, identified 24-year-old Kevin Ariel Cunache Moyolema, from the vehicle and sit him on the side of the road.
Moyolema was also hospitalized with minor pain.
It’s unclear why the Mercedes driver, identified as Siiyer Walker, 52, was pulled over. He refused a trip to the hospital.
No charges have been filed in connection to the crash and the probe is ongoing.
