No Way: Brave Corgi Leads Pack of Stolen Dogs 11 Miles Along a Busy Chinese Freeway Back to Their Homes

The world remains tumultuous, with missiles flying across the Middle East and aviation disasters occurring on home soil. Meanwhile, the persistent Schumer-led partial government shutdown drags on. Yet, life persists, and the globe keeps turning.

Amidst the chaos, there are heartwarming stories emerging, such as the tale of seven dogs in China who were stolen by meat-trade criminals, destined for a grim end.

Remarkably, they managed to break free.

These resourceful canines not only escaped but also navigated more than 10 miles of treacherous highway to reunite with their owners. Their journey was led by a courageous corgi who took charge, ensuring the group remained disciplined and focused on their goal.

Simply astonishing:

The crew reportedly quickly turned into the doggone A-Team:

According to the South China Morning Post, the dogs were taken by thieves working for a dog meat shop and escaped from a moving truck. A Corgi led the group and repeatedly turned to check on the others, while the group surrounded an injured German shepherd in the middle. Other breeds, including Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and a Pekingese, followed closely behind.

More footage later showed the dogs crossing nearby fields, still sticking together and ignoring attempts from people to guide them to safety.

How did seven canines work together so seamlessly without the fur flying? Turns out they were all old pals:

Local rescuers later confirmed all seven dogs came from the same village, where they were known to roam together and had formed strong bonds. Volunteers tracked their movements as the group continued heading in the same direction, and by March 19, all seven dogs had finally reunited with their owners.

In China, stealing a dog is treated as a criminal offense, with penalties ranging from fines to prison time depending on the animal’s value.

Unfortunately, in today’s new reality, one can’t help but think, “This is BS — it’s clearly an AI-generated story.” However, I asked AI itself, in the form of X’s Grok, and it said, nossir, this is the real deal.

The story is legitimate and not AI-generated. It originated from real events in Changchun (Jilin Province), China, around March 16, 2026, and has been widely reported and verified by multiple credible sources.

Many outlets across the globe are reporting that this is not AI and has, in fact, been confirmed. It’s a drag that we have to even worry about such things, but nobody wants to get fooled by the increasingly sophisticated output of AI Video creation engines.

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II was famously fond of corgis, and they were known to roam her palaces as pampered guests of honor. I’m imagining she’d be very proud of this group of furry friends, and especially Commander Corgi, who is reportedly named “Da Pang,” or “Big Fat.”

You deserve a special meal tonight, Big Fat. Bark on, lads and ladies.
