GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Authorities have apprehended Calista Nicole Crenshaw, age 26, from Micanopy, and Jaquez De’onte Keith, age 27, from Alachua. The arrests followed an incident where Crenshaw allegedly aimed a firearm at a woman during a dispute over a DoorDash delivery, with both suspects accused of concealing the weapon afterward.

On March 25, shortly before noon, an Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to Brittany Estates. The victim there reported that after ordering food via DoorDash, she had a chat with the delivery driver, identified as “Jacquez,” through the app due to a delivery issue. The victim provided a pin location, which led the driver to her location.

An argument erupted upon the order’s arrival, involving the victim, Keith, and Crenshaw, who was accompanying Keith in his vehicle. As tensions rose, the victim began recording the incident on her phone. According to the deputy’s report, the video captured Crenshaw retrieving a black handgun from the vehicle’s passenger side and threatening the victim with it while shouting. The victim expressed fear for her safety due to the presence of the weapon.

Following the confrontation, Crenshaw reportedly drove off alone, leaving Keith behind. Keith was observed leaving on foot. The deputy noted that Keith was no longer in the vicinity of Brittany Estates, suggesting that Crenshaw might have returned to pick him up before the police arrived.

Law enforcement later located Crenshaw and Keith at One Fifty One Apartments in Alachua. After being read their Miranda rights, both suspects allegedly confessed to proceeding to Keith’s uncle’s home post-incident, where Keith left the gun on a table. The uncle granted deputies permission to retrieve the firearm, confirming it as the one displayed during the altercation.

Crenshaw has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, tampering with evidence, and improperly exhibiting a firearm. She has no criminal convictions, and Judge Meshon Rawls ordered her held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold her without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Keith has been charged with tampering with evidence. He has no criminal convictions, and Judge Rawls ordered him released on his own recognizance.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
