A well-known fitness influencer met a tragic end when a gunman on a motorcycle shot him as he was departing from a gym, according to police reports.

Roberto Cunha Lima, a seasoned coach with nearly three decades of expertise, was fatally shot outside a gym in Salvador, Brazil, on Wednesday evening, as reported by the outlet G1.

Authorities have initiated a pursuit to capture the assailant, who swiftly left the scene. Meanwhile, investigators are still working to determine the motive behind the attack.

At 46, Cunha Lima, also recognized as “Beto Cunha Coach,” shared fitness and lifestyle insights with his 7,000 online followers, earning a reputation as a trusted guide in the fitness community.

The well-built influencer advocated for sustainable weight loss, emphasizing that there are no shortcuts or magic solutions.

In one of his final social media updates, he advised parents on essential purchases for their children, highlighting his diverse range of content.

“Your child only eats what they buy,” he said.

“Parents determine the food environment of the house. If the pantry is full of cookies, soft drinks, chips, sweets and ultra-processed food, rich in sugar, fat and additives, it is natural for the child to consume this kind of food. After all, this is what’s available.

“The truth is simple: the responsibility for the quality of children’s food is not theirs – it is ours, the parents.”

He went on to suggest that children are not “mature enough” to make their own choices, saying they need “guidance, example and boundaries.”

“Ultimately the question every parent should ask is ‘What am I putting inside my house for my son to eat?” he preached.

“Because the truth remains the same: your son only eats what you buy.”

In another Instagram post, the influencer said he refused to be average.

“The difference between good and extraordinary lies in dedication. And that’s exactly what drives me: to grow every day to transform not only bodies, but entire lives,” he said.
