In a dramatic turn of events in Sydney’s south-west, a man now faces charges of attempted murder following a neighborhood dispute that escalated into a stabbing incident, leaving two individuals in critical condition.
According to police, the violent altercation involved three men, aged 30, 37, and 56. The conflict erupted just before 3:30 PM yesterday in the suburb of Girraween.
Exclusive surveillance footage captures a man clad in black approaching the entrance of a home in Western Sydney. The homeowner, prepared with a chair for defense, confronts this intruder.
As the situation intensifies, the homeowner attempts to ward off the man with the chair, leading to a chaotic brawl that eventually spills into the backyard.
During this fray, the 30-year-old and 56-year-old sustained multiple stab wounds to their torsos, while the alleged assailant incurred injuries to his arms.
Police apprehended the 37-year-old suspect, who was subsequently transported to a hospital where he remains under police supervision.
All of the men are believed to be known to each other.
Neighbours have told 9News they were left rattled following the incident.
”A couple of kids from that house came out running and asked me to call the cops,” a resident told 9News.
“I walked up to the house, [and] there was a younger man standing at the porch, there was another man lying down, and he was saying ‘this man has attacked me, I have been stabbed’.”
A crime scene has been established, with police investigating the alleged brawl.
The 37-year-old man was arrested and taken to Granville Police Station, and was charged with two counts of attempted murder.
He was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Local Court tomorrow.
