A frightening encounter unfolded in Los Angeles when a wild coyote attacked a 4-year-old boy in his driveway, an incident captured on video.
The attack took place on Tuesday morning while the boy’s family was unloading their SUV in Carson. Without warning, the coyote leaped at the young boy, biting him aggressively.
The child suffered puncture wounds to his leg and torso and was taken to the hospital. Thankfully, his injuries were not life-threatening, according to KTLA.
“It all happened in the blink of an eye,” the boy’s grandmother shared with KTLA. “Coyotes only need a moment to strike, so it’s crucial to stay vigilant.”
Officials have expressed concern, noting that this event is part of a worrisome trend.

Wildlife officers with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife are working with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to find the aggressive coyote, combing through neighborhoods in hopes of capturing it before another attack occurs.
For residents, sightings are nothing new, as coyotes have long roamed streets near homes, schools and parks.
But officials warn that familiarity can quickly turn dangerous.
They urge families to keep small children and pets within sight, eliminate food sources like unsecured trash or pet food and report any unusually bold or aggressive behavior immediately.
