A Pennsylvania restaurant employee is on the run after allegedly assaulting a colleague just moments after clocking in. The incident reportedly stemmed from frustrations over doing the work of others, according to local authorities.

McKinley Maurice Pace Jr., 35, is currently sought by the Jeannette Police Department. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and harassment following the altercation. An arrest warrant was issued for Pace on Tuesday, according to the police department’s announcement.

The confrontation took place on March 27 at DeNunzio’s Restaurant located in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, a suburb east of Pittsburgh. Reports from a court document, referenced by ABC affiliate WTAE, indicate that Pace had just started his shift when he began voicing grievances about covering for other employees.

“I’ve had enough,” Pace allegedly exclaimed, specifically targeting one co-worker. “I’m going to punch him in the face,” he is reported to have declared.

The targeted co-worker responded directly, saying, “I’m right here, you don’t have to go upstairs,” as later recounted to the authorities.

Pace is accused of following through on his threat by striking the co-worker in the face multiple times. He then allegedly turned his aggression towards the man’s wife, hitting her as well. Witnesses, including the general manager, noted that the violent outburst occurred just one minute after Pace had arrived for work.

Police were called to the restaurant about a fight, but when they arrived, Pace was not there.

The police department is asking anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to contact the agency.

DeNunzio’s Restaurant has several locations in the greater Pittsburgh area. Its Jeannette location says it is “known for its friendly service, warm atmosphere, and delicious Italian food.”
