A domestic dispute in Seaford, New York, took a fiery turn when a woman allegedly threatened to set her house ablaze. The incident unfolded on Neptune Avenue, leading to the arrest of 59-year-old Lisa Decaprio. Charged with arson and harassment, Decaprio’s actions stemmed from a confrontation with a man residing in the same home.

The Nassau County Police Department reports that officers were dispatched to the scene at 8:14 p.m. on Friday. Details about the man’s identity and his connection to Decaprio remain undisclosed. However, it is clear that he became the focus of her ire during the altercation, which culminated in her alarming declaration to “burn the house down.”

The dispute began as a verbal argument, escalating when Decaprio allegedly started hurling items at the man. The subject of their disagreement has not been revealed. The situation intensified when Decaprio purportedly set a pillow on fire, using it as a threat to suggest she might ignite the entire residence.

Although the blaze was extinguished by the time authorities arrived, the situation had already taken a serious turn. Fortunately, the man involved was not injured during the incident. Decaprio was apprehended without resistance and subsequently underwent a hospital evaluation before being transported to jail. The charges against her include arson and harassment.

It was not specified who called 911.

Police said the fire was extinguished by the time first responders arrived at the home. The man was unharmed. Decaprio was arrested without incident the same day and taken to a hospital for evaluation before she was brought to jail. She was charged with arson and harassment.

At her arraignment at Nassau County District Court on Saturday, Decaprio was granted $10,000 cash bail, $20,000 secured bond, or $50,000 partially secured surety bond. It was not clear if she was still in custody. She pleaded not guilty to both charges and is due to appear in court again on April 14.
