A Queensland tradie who smashed the windows of his own car in a bid to stop thieves from stealing the vehicle has been bailed after spending the weekend in jail.
Asmir Dzambic spent two days locked up on dangerous driving charges after taking the law into his own hands to stop a thief behind the wheel of his car.

Surveillance footage has captured the moment when Dzambic took matters into his own hands by using a baseball bat to confront the windscreen of his company vehicle. This act of defiance came after thieves returned just days after initially stealing his car keys.

According to court testimony, the thieves made off with tools valued at tens of thousands of dollars and keys to other vehicles from Dzambic’s demolition business earlier this week.

After reporting the incident to the authorities, Dzambic, anticipating the potential return of the perpetrators, strategically placed tracking devices in his vehicles.

His foresight paid off when the thief attempted to strike again two nights later, only to find Dzambic ready and waiting.

In court today, Dzambic’s attorney expressed visible frustration, remarking that while his client wasn’t dressed as a vigilante superhero, he might not have been the only one in custody if he had been.

As of now, the car thief remains at large.
