A tragic incident in Tucson, Arizona last week resulted in the death of a three-year-old girl and left her pregnant mother injured, following a high-speed crash. Authorities have charged two individuals, aged 22 and 16, with second-degree murder, as they were allegedly drag racing.

On April 10, around 1 p.m., officers arrived at the scene of a crash involving a silver Toyota Camry and a white Hyundai Genesis. The collision, described by investigators as violent and high-impact, took place at an intersection.

The young child, who was properly secured in a car seat, was transported to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. The woman driving the Camry sustained serious injuries, while the driver of the Genesis had only minor injuries.

In memory of the toddler named Anna, her family set up a GoFundMe page to assist with funeral and medical expenses, describing her as “a bright, joyful, and loving little girl.”

“In this heartbreaking moment, we lost our sweet Anna,” the family wrote in their fundraising post, mourning the tragic loss of their beloved three-year-old daughter.

The fundraiser identified the adult female as Anna’s mother, who it said is nine months pregnant. It said she was recovering at a hospital while “facing every parent’s worst nightmare” in the “unimaginable loss” of her youngest daughter.

Investigators said the Genesis was racing another vehicle, believed to be a multicolored Dodge Charger, at speeds far above the limit when it struck the Camry as it attempted a left turn, splitting the vehicle in half. The Dodge Charger fled the scene.

Police arrested Christian Isaiah Randall, the 22-year-old driver of the Genesis, and charged him with second-degree murder, along with multiple counts of endangerment and aggravated assault. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.

The driver of the second vehicle was identified as a 16-year-old boy on Sunday after investigators said they located the Dodge Charger involved in the incident.
