SECWAR Pete Hegseth Faces New, and Senseless, Democratic Impeachment Effort

In a surprising twist of political theater, Democratic Representative Yassamin Ansari from Arizona’s 3rd district has initiated impeachment proceedings, not against former President Trump, but targeting Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Impeachment now appears to be the Democrats’ favored strategy, reminiscent of the “Otter Gambit” from the classic comedy film Animal House. In a memorable scene, the character Otter, portrayed by Tim Matheson, galvanizes his fraternity brothers with the rallying cry, “This situation calls for a really futile and stupid gesture on somebody’s part.”

In a bid to channel the spirit of John Belushi, Rep. Ansari seems to embrace the notion, declaring, “And we’re just the ones to do it.” This move epitomizes the “futile and stupid gesture” motif critics have highlighted. Witness this unfold:

It’s clear this effort is destined for a dead end, and Rep. Ansari is fully aware. Yet, the futility doesn’t deter her. Her lack of earnestness in impeaching Pete Hegseth mirrors her half-hearted 25th Amendment effort against President Trump—yes, she’s advocating for that as well:

The narrative continues:

Rep. Ansari has stepped in to cosplay as John Belushi, seemingly claiming, “And we’re just the guys to do it.” And here’s where she really lays into the whole “futile and stupid gesture” part of this. Here, watch:

Here’s the thing: This is going nowhere fast, and Rep. Ansari knows it. She doesn’t care. She’s not serious about impeaching Pete Hegseth, any more than she is about 25th Amendment proceedings against President Trump – yes, she’s pushing that, too:

The post continues:

…and am introducing Articles of Impeachment against Hegseth.

Rep. Ansari, let’s face it, is not a serious person. Sensible people won’t take her seriously, and that’s for sure and for certain. But she is serious about one thing: Throwing red meat to the Democratic Party’s slavering screwball base.
