LOS ANGELES — ABC’s acclaimed police drama “Will Trent” wraps up its season this Tuesday night with a gripping finale that promises heightened suspense and personal turmoil for its characters.
The climactic episode centers on the team’s urgent search for a missing college student. What initially appears to be a typical abduction case soon spirals into a perilous conspiracy, significantly raising the stakes for all involved.
Concurrently, Angie Polanski, played by Erika Christensen, faces a pivotal moment in her pregnancy while trying to manage the pressures of the unfolding case.
“She’s at that stage in her pregnancy where she’s ready to have this baby,” Christensen explained. “That’s where we find her at the beginning of this episode.”
The actress provided hints about major shifts between Angie and Will Trent, commenting, “Where Will and Angie begin and where they end the finale is actually quite different.”
Christensen also took the opportunity to clarify some misconceptions among viewers regarding her character’s journey throughout the season.
“I understand anyone who thought that I was really pregnant, [but] I’m not, I haven’t been,” she said.
Reflecting on her connection to the role, Christensen explained why Angie resonates with audiences.
“She has such a strong purpose,” the actress said, “To advocate for people in situations where they need someone to advocate. She wants to help people and she wants to stop bad guys.”
As the finale unfolds, Christensen said her character draws on resilience shaped over a lifetime.
“I think she proved to herself early on in her life that she’s a survivor,” Christensen said. “And it’s that that we see also serving her in the finale.”
The season finale of “Will Trent” airs Tuesday at 8 p.m., and the series will return with a fifth season.
