Washington — Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, joyfully announced the birth of her daughter, Viviana, on Thursday. Both she and her husband are thrilled to welcome their newborn into the family.
Leavitt’s daughter was born May 1, she announced on Instagram. Leavitt and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, also have a toddler-aged son named Niko. Leavitt began maternity leave shortly before her delivery.
“Our family grew on May 1st with the arrival of Viviana, affectionately known as ‘Vivi,’ who instantly filled our hearts with love,” Leavitt shared. “She is absolutely perfect and in good health, while her older brother is enthusiastically embracing his new role as a big sibling. We are cherishing every moment within our blissful newborn cocoon. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who sent prayers during my pregnancy — I felt their presence throughout the journey. God is Good.”
During Leavitt’s maternity leave, Secretary of State Marco Rubio stepped in to handle press briefings. This week, Rubio acknowledged the hectic nature of the briefings, as reporters jostled for his attention.
“This is chaos, guys,” he remarked.
