Gillian Greene, spouse of acclaimed Spider-Man director Sam Raimi, has initiated divorce proceedings in Los Angeles after more than three decades of marriage.
At the age of 56, Greene submitted her divorce petition on Wednesday, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation from Raimi, who is 64, as reported by TMZ following a review of the legal documents.
The couple, who tied the knot on September 17, 1993, are parents to five adult children: Lorne, Henry, Emma, Dashiell, and Oliver Raimi.
In her legal filing, Greene has requested spousal support and also asked the court to block Raimi from receiving alimony.
According to the outlet, there was no mention of a prenuptial agreement in the court filings.

Sam Raimi’s financial standing is estimated at $60 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Greene told the court that she and Raimi would have to delineate and divide their assets and property moving forward.
The outlet noted that the split of the longtime show business couple was ‘pretty stunning,’ and there had been ‘no signs of trouble’ ahead of Wednesday’s news.
The Royal Oak, Michigan-born Raimi has worked for decades in Hollywood as a director, producer and writer.
He’s directed three films in the Spider-Man franchise: 2002’s Spider-Man, 2004’s Spider-Man 2 and 2007’s Spider-Man 3, all with Tobey Maguire in the titular role.
He also boasts prominent credits such as 1981’s The Evil Dead, 1990’s Darkman, 1999’s For Love of the Game, 2013’s Oz the Great and Powerful and 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Speaking with CBR last month, the filmmaker spoke about rumors he would be making a fourth Spider-Man with Maguire, 48.
‘Well, I haven’t heard about that yet,’ he told the outlet. ‘I did read that, but I’m not actually working on it yet.

He added, ‘I mean, Marvel and Columbia are so successful with current Spider-Man [films], and the track there, and I don’t know that they’re going to go back to me, and say, “Well, folks, we can also tell that story!”‘
Raimi added, ‘I’m not sure, but I love all the new Spider-Man movies. I loved Spider-Man: No Way Home. It was really, super powerful seeing Tobey again in it.’
Raimi told the outlet that he hasn’t yet been in touch with Maguire about reprising his role as the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, but anything is possible moving forward.
‘I haven’t talked to Tobey about it, but maybe Marvel has, or Columbia Pictures,’ Raimi told the outlet. ‘But, I just worked with Marvel on a movie called Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
‘So, I’m on great terms with them. I’m sure I would hear about it if it was in the works. I think so. I don’t know.’
