On Thursday, Hunter Biden, who once held the title of first son, firmly rejected any involvement with the notorious bag of cocaine found at the White House in 2023.
When directly questioned by conservative podcaster Candace Owens about whether the cocaine discovered by the Secret Service near the White House Situation Room three years prior was his, Biden simply replied, “No.”
After grappling with crack cocaine addiction following his brother’s death in 2015, Biden asserted to Owens that he has maintained sobriety since June 1, 2019.
“And that can be verified,” he added, referencing the random drug tests he claims to have undergone “over the course of two years” amid his gun and tax-related legal challenges.
Continuing his defense, Biden remarked, “But to answer your question directly: I wasn’t even there.”
Though Hunter Biden received a broad pardon from his father for any offenses from Jan. 1, 2014, to Dec. 1, 2024, he hinted that the substance might have been brought into the White House by a visitor or a member of the administration’s staff.
âPeople have to understand ⦠where that cocaine was found ⦠that is where visitors come in and, and they come over from the old executive office building, staff, to go to the, go to the Oval [Office] or go to the chief of staff office or to the offices in the West Wing, and it was found in a cubby, right outside of the Situation Room â and it’s like, no possibility, not even remotely, beyond the fact that I wasn’t even there,â he explained.
Former President Joe Biden, Hunter, and other members of the first family were at Camp David in Maryland when the dime-sized bag of cocaine was found on July 2, 2023, a Sunday night.
Hunter Biden had been spotted at the White House by reporters the Friday before the discovery, when the first family departed Washington for Camp David.

âI spent probably, you know, over the course of four years maybe 25 days at the White House. Like 25 nights. Thirty, if, you know, Iâm being fair,â Biden said, calling himself an âeasy target ⦠understandably soâ for suspicion.
Biden then bragged that heâs âprobably the most famous addictâ in recovery for substance abuse.
The Biden administration never determined the origin of the bag of cocaine.
The FBI, under the Trump administration, reopened the case in 2025 but has not made any arrests.
