This inspiring event is dedicated to the memory of ABC7 reporter Jim Gibbons, who tragically passed away from leukemia in 1994.

Proceeds from the run and walk are directed towards supporting the Leukemia Research Foundation, contributing to the fight against this challenging disease.
The 2026 edition of the ABC7 Gibbons Run offers a variety of activities, including a chip-timed 5K run, a 3K walk, a dash for kids, and a special “tiny trot” designed for toddlers aged 3 and under.
Participants can look forward to a celebratory gathering at Montrose Harbor following the events.
ABC7’s Dionne Miller engaged with survivors and those currently battling leukemia, sharing their stories and celebrating their resilience.
