When Taylor Swift walks down the aisle in just a few weeks, the spotlight will not only be on the bride herself but also on the array of celebrities attending the event.
However, one familiar face from Swift’s past won’t be among the star-studded audience, which is expected to include the likes of Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid. Missing from the front row will be Karlie Kloss, a former best friend once rumored to have had a closer-than-platonic relationship with Swift.
Kloss, a renowned supermodel, and Swift quickly forged a close friendship beginning in 2013. Their bond was marked by shared appearances in music videos, attending concerts together, and spending cozy nights at home, even sharing the runway.
Speculation about their relationship reached a peak the following year when the duo was reportedly seen sharing an intimate moment during a concert by The 1975, a rumor that Swift’s representative promptly dismissed as “hilarious.”
However, by 2017, the friendship between Swift and Kloss seemed to cool off. Notably, Swift was absent from Kloss’s 2019 wedding to Joshua Kushner.
Insiders now suggest that the fallout was due to Kloss’s allegedly insincere motives and her association with Scooter Braun, a figure known to be a rival of Swift, which ultimately led to the dissolution of their friendship.

‘She wants to be surrounded by those who can genuinely share the love and meaning of the day, especially the people who have played important roles in her life for years. Over time, some of her friendships have become strained for various reasons.
‘Obviously, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds will not be attending, and neither will Karlie Kloss. When it comes to Karlie, Taylor ultimately felt that the trust in the friendship had been broken.
‘She came to believe that Karlie’s intentions were not as genuine as she once thought, and that the friendship became more about proximity to Taylor’s fame than a real bond.
‘Because of that, Taylor chose to distance herself, feeling that maintaining a friendship with someone she believed was using her no longer served her in any positive way. Could that ever change? Probably not.

The insider added that Kloss’s association with Braun ‘has been a major issue for Taylor’, saying, ‘In Taylor’s eyes, anyone closely aligned with Scooter is someone she simply cannot fully trust.
‘She feels very strongly about who Scooter is as a person based on her own experiences with him, and because of that, she views the loyalty others show toward him as extremely revealing.
‘To Taylor, if someone is willing to stand by Scooter at any point despite everything that has happened, it says a lot about their character and where their loyalties truly lie.’
Braun, 44, recently addressed his infamous ‘feud’ with Swift over her masters – sparked when he purchased the rights to the records back in 2020 through the private equity firm Shamrock Capital. Last year Swift bought back her masters.
He claimed, ‘I don’t know Taylor Swift. I think I’ve met her in my life three times. I have never had a substantial conversation with her in my life.’
The businessman explained he had been invited to a party hosted by Swift in the past, where they both expressed that they had the ‘utmost respect’ for each other at the time.
The record executive added, ‘But I think there’s this big misconception that, like, we knew each other and we had this feud and I managed her for years.
‘And people are usually shocked to find out that I legitimately don’t know her and didn’t have many interactions with her and never really knew her.’
Braun claimed that he had spoken to the Bad Blood hitmaker ‘once’ and the conversation only lasted for a couple of minutes.

The star had said earlier this year that their guest list would be massive to avoid the ‘stressful’ nature of smaller weddings.
But it has since been reported that the couple have scaled the wedding down.
Guests who received an invitation have also been required to RSVP with a signed NDA to help keep details of the nuptials private, per a source.
The exact location of the wedding is unknown, but it is said to be an arena- or museum-like space.
The sports player had turned his backyard in Kansas City into a secret garden wonderland, which offered a romantic atmosphere.
He had asked Swift to marry him shortly after they recorded an episode of his New Heights podcast together.
It has also been previously claimed that the singer has asked some of her celebrity friends to be her bridesmaids, including Gomez and Hadid.
Two months after the pair will marry, Kelce is scheduled to kick off the new NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs.
