A tragic incident shattered a family vacation in San Diego this past weekend when a pregnant teenager was allegedly shot and killed by her boyfriend.
Authorities received reports of a shooting around 1 a.m. on Saturday, discovering a 17-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the head. The victim, who was visiting from Arizona, was approximately 32 weeks pregnant, officials reported.
Rushed to a local hospital, the medical team performed an emergency cesarean section in a desperate attempt to save the baby. The newborn remains in critical condition, while the young mother tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators have identified the suspect as 19-year-old Trevon Williams. According to police, he traveled separately from Arizona to meet the victim outside the short-term rental property in Bay Park where she was staying with her family.
