A harrowing tale of survival unfolded as a Florida woman managed to escape a three-week kidnapping nightmare. Allegedly held captive and transported cross-country by her ex-boyfriend, the woman made a daring leap from a balcony in California to secure her freedom, authorities reported on Thursday.
The disturbing sequence of events led to the arrest of 41-year-old Floyd Stuck. Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno disclosed that Stuck faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, aggravated stalking, unauthorized installation of a tracking device, and evading law enforcement. Officials detailed a violent abduction that commenced in Southwest Florida and traversed the nation.
Authorities were first alerted on Tuesday when the victim reached out to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. She discovered Stuck’s alleged attempt to attach a tracking device to her vehicle, prompting the investigation.
Responding deputies soon unearthed what Sheriff Marceno described as a prolonged and terrifying ordeal spanning several months.
During a press conference, Marceno expressed the severity of the situation, labeling the suspect as a “calculated maniac” and “very dangerous.” He lauded the relentless efforts of the detectives and deputies who worked tirelessly to bring an end to the victim’s coast-to-coast ordeal.
