Richard Gere marked the Fourth of July with a rare family photo, sharing a glimpse of himself alongside his third wife, Alejandra Gere, and their two young sons as they took in views of the Statue of Liberty during a boat tour in New York City.
The actor, known recently for The Agency, will turn 77 next month, making him 34 years older than Alejandra, the Galician publicist he married eight years ago.
The couple spent Independence Day with their sons, Alexander, seven, and James, six, enjoying a relaxed beach picnic as part of the holiday celebrations.
Gere and Alejandra, who was born Alejandra María Silva García-Baquero, also documented the boys’ excitement as they watched the fireworks light up the night sky.
‘Deeply grateful for a life built between two countries, two cultures, and so many people we love,’ Alejandra captioned their joint Instagram slideshow.
‘Today, we celebrate connection, family, friendship, and everything that reminds us that home is not only a place, but the people we carry in our hearts. Happy Fourth of July to our family and friends across the United States.’

Earlier on Saturday, the couple, who serve as co-chairs of the Gere Foundation, spent time together on a nature walk.
‘To me, the best weekends don’t need big plans,’ Alejandra wrote.
‘Just quality time, nature, unhurried conversations… and the joy of reaching the end of the path with the person I love most. Because in the end, the real destination is always the people we love. Wait until the end… you’ll see.’
The Daily Mail has reached out to Gere’s two publicists, but did not immediately hear back.
Gere is also stepfather to the brunette beauty’s 11-year-old son Albert from her three-year marriage to ex-husband Govind Friedland, which ended in 2015.
Alejandra originally met the silver-haired Emmy nominee in 2004 before being reintroduced in 2014 at her family’s hotel in Positano, Italy.
Gere taught his staffer how to meditate and they now use Tibetan Buddhism to find patience raising their three sons.
‘She’s an incredible mother that way. I’ve actually learnt how to be a better father by watching her,’ the Wisdom of Happiness producer told HELLO! last November.
‘She is always really good with [saying]: “Okay, I know I want to strangle you right now, but I’m going to take a deep breath and we’re going to talk through this. Okay, now what’s going on? I’d like to know what are you feeling.”‘
Alejandra added: ‘Like Richard has said before, there is a lot of patience that is brought into the equation. Introducing the kids to Buddhism and what it means is important.’

The May-December duo also celebrated Independence Day with their sons Alexander, seven, and James, six, by having a picnic on a beach

Gere and his ladylove (born Alejandra María Silva García-Baquero) then captured lots of footage of the boys watching the fireworks display

The Philly native joked he ‘can retire’ now that he’s ‘passed the torch’ to the 26-year-old nepo baby, who just wrapped a role in Oliver Stone’s drama White Lies.
‘He’s really good. He really kind of preternaturally knows what he’s doing,’ Gere told People on June 9 of Homer.
‘But he’s also handling it really well. He’s a good kid. He’s a really good young man who kind of gets it, and this is not an easy job. Not everyone can function within it. So I think he can stay.’
The Euphoria actor will next portray mysterious prep school student Robert Mallory in Ryan Murphy’s 10-episode adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’ 2023 novel The Shards, which premieres August 5 on FX/Hulu.
