Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s commissioner for international affairs arranged a meeting with Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, sources confirmed to The Post.

The report said Mamdani was unaware of the planned meeting. Even so, the canceled diplomatic flap is likely to fuel criticism from opponents of the Israel-bashing Mamdani, who may see it as an “Aya-told-you-so” moment.
“I mean, read the room people,” another source said. “I’m sure the president is thrilled.”
