Missing person: Family searches for Sayveon Anderson, Fort Bragg soldier missing since June 29

FORT BRAGG — The family of a Fort Bragg soldier who has been missing for 10 days is urgently seeking information about his whereabouts.

Sayveon Anderson, 25, was last seen June 29 at Fort Bragg, relatives said. Anderson is married, and his wife is expecting a baby.

The Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division is assisting local law enforcement agencies in the search for Anderson.

Anderson’s mother, Pamela Anderson, told ABC11, our North Carolina sister station, that she last spoke with her son on June 27. She said he sent her a message on Instagram early the following day, but despite repeated calls and texts, she has not heard from him since.

“I just want you to let me know that you’re okay,” Pamela said.

She said the silence is deeply out of character for her son, who normally stays in touch with his family.

“This is not like my son,” she said. “My son will call me. He would at least text me or answer my texts.”

Pamela said she reached out to her son’s Army commander after her attempts to contact him went unanswered. She said she was later informed that someone had reported seeing him at Fort Bragg on June 29.

According to his mother, Anderson does not live on Fort Bragg and was there to begin a weeklong assignment.

His sister, Shicora Anderson, said the family remains concerned because they have not heard from him in more than a week.

“He hasn’t used his phone. He hasn’t used his cards,” she said. “Something’s not right. Something is not adding up.”

Shicora also questioned whether investigators have been able to use surveillance footage or cellphone data to help locate her brother.

Sayveon Anderson has served in the Army for seven years. His family said they want him to know they love him and want him to return home safely.

“You are so loved. You are so missed,” Pamela said. “I just want you to come home safe.”

A spokesperson for the Department of the Army Criminal Investigation Division said the agency is actively working with local law enforcement in the search for Sayveon.

Sayveon Anderson is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 270 pounds.

If you have information about Sayveon Anderson’s whereabouts, contact the Fort Bragg Provost Marshal’s Office at 910-396-0391, the family at 434-962-7780, or call 911.
