New Jersey woman accused of sexually assaulting child, posting video on Snapchat: police

A New Jersey woman is facing allegations that she sexually assaulted a child under the age of 13, filmed the alleged abuse and shared at least one video through Snapchat, according to court records.

Victoria Anne Cranmer, 25, was taken into custody Tuesday on charges of second-degree sexual assault, second-degree manufacturing of child sexual abuse material, third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material and third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Prosecutors allege Cranmer created a 14-second recording on May 6 in the bathroom of a Little Egg Harbor residence while the child was under her supervision.

Investigators said they were able to identify Cranmer in part because of several distinctive tattoos visible in the footage, including a tattoo on her leg depicting breasts, according to the report.

An affidavit of probable cause says the case began May 20, when the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency referred the allegations to the Little Egg Harbor Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit. Detectives later secured search warrants for a cellphone allegedly used by Cranmer and for her Snapchat account, where they said additional videos were found saved in Snapchat’s Memories feature.

The affidavit states that the cellphone had been bought for Cranmer by a former roommate as a birthday present. After asking Cranmer to move out, the roommate reportedly told her to leave the phone behind. While going through the device, the roommate allegedly found the recording, saved it and later provided the phone to investigators, according to the affidavit.

Investigators also allege Cranmer was laughing while assaulting the child in the video, according to the court according to court documents cited by NJ.com.

At least one of the alleged recordings was shared on Snapchat, New Jersey 101.5 reported.

Cranmer was booked into the Ocean County Jail, where she is being held without bail.

INC News has reached out to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office for additional information and to determine whether Cranmer has legal representation.
