Probationer Accused of Threatening to Kill Ex-Girlfriend, Children

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Nathail Eugene Harrington Jr., 32, of Hawthorne, was arrested yesterday on a warrant accusing him of aggravated stalking after authorities said he harassed a former girlfriend and threatened to kill her and her children.

According to a report from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told a deputy that on August 10 she began receiving calls and text messages from Harrington that became “increasingly frequent.” Although the relationship had recently ended, Harrington allegedly made repeated comments suggesting they were still together. Deputies said he threatened to kill the victim, her children, and himself if she ended the relationship, and allegedly said he would go “live on Facebook” while killing the victim, her children, and then himself.

The victim started recording the conversation. A deputy reported that on the recordings, Harrington can allegedly be heard saying, “If I can’t have you, I don’t want nobody, and you ain’t gonna have nobody. Imma do it, bruh, then imma do it to myself,” a statement investigators said referred back to his earlier threats.

Deputies noted that Harrington knew the victim’s home and routine because of their prior relationship. When the victim left her apartment at about 3:15 a.m. on August 11, she called law enforcement and reported that Harrington was standing on a sidewalk near her apartment, staring at her. She said he ran off before deputies arrived.

The victim later told a deputy she had received more than 200 missed calls from Harrington in a 12-hour period. At one point, he allegedly threatened to “stay watching your house.” In another message, referring to threats to harm her, he allegedly wrote, “I have to do it.” The victim told law enforcement she believed Harrington had both the intent and ability to kill her and her children.

Harrington, who is designated as a violent felony offender of special concern, has been charged with aggravated stalking. Court records list 11 felony convictions, including three violent felonies, and nine non-violent misdemeanor convictions. He has served six state prison sentences, with his most recent release in April 2026. Harrington was arrested in March 2025 after allegedly backing a stolen car into a patrol vehicle and then fleeing from deputies; he remains on drug offender probation in that case after serving a 15-month prison sentence.

Judge Susan Miller-Jones ordered Harrington held without bail while the court considers a State Attorney’s Office motion to detain him without bail until trial. If the judge denies that motion, bail will be addressed at the hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
