Sally Field, who shared the screen with Dolly Parton in the beloved film Steel Magnolias, was photographed arriving at LAX on Saturday alongside a relative.
The sighting marked the 79-year-old actress’s first public appearance since Parton died on Tuesday at age 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
Field kept her travel look relaxed, wearing wide-leg light-wash blue jeans with a blue button-up shirt, a black blazer and an LA Dodgers baseball cap.
She completed the outfit with white sneakers featuring pink soles, while her small black dog accompanied her through the airport.
Her greying dark hair fell out from beneath her cap, and she accessorized with square-framed eyeglasses.
Following Parton’s death, Field honored her former co-star on Instagram, sharing a photo of the cast from the late-1980s movie set and writing: “If there are truly angels on earth, then we have just lost one.”

Shirley MacLaine, 92, who was also in the film, said about Parton in a statement to People, ‘God sent her to us, and she has returned home.’
Parton’s death was confirmed on Tuesday in an Instagram video posted by Parton’s nephew and head of security Bryan Seaver.
She passed away after being admitted on August 21 to Nashville’s Vanderbilt University Medical Center with autoimmune and kidney problems, according to TMZ.
Four days before her death, the singer told People she had ‘so many things I want to achieve,’ including launching a new hotel and museum in Nashville, Tennessee.
‘This video announcement is something Dolly asked of me years ago before I fully absorbed it as a future reality,’ Seaver said in the clip.
He lauded his aunt for having ‘lived in the light’ and said she was now ‘in the arms of Jesus’ and the company of her late husband Carl Dean, as well as her parents and ‘countless others who have watched her and longed to meet her in the heavens.’

Parton’s legacy could soon expand as Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Nashville International Airport seek to name the travel hub in her honor.
Lee said he has spoken to Parton’s team about the proposal.
According to Page Six, Parton’s representatives showed appreciation for the gesture and said they are open to the idea, per a press release from Lee and the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority.
Should it come to fruition, the renaming of the transportation center will further cement the star’s impact.
‘Dolly Parton’s extraordinary life is forever woven into the fabric of our state,’ the governor declared in the statement. ‘From her rural mountain home in East Tennessee to global stages, Dolly carried the Volunteer Spirit with her.’
He continued: ‘At a place where Tennessee welcomes the world, it is fitting that Nashville International Airport would bear the name of our state’s favorite daughter and greet travelers with the enduring legacy of Dolly’s music, generosity, faith, and kindness.’
