Society figure Garrett Moore has quietly married 25-year-old heiress Hope Chilton, following the end of his engagement to a Hollywood actress nearly five decades older than his new bride.
Moore, the son of the Earl of Drogheda, exchanged vows with Chilton, whose father is American investment billionaire Richard Lockwood Chilton Jr, in an understated ceremony in London.
The 40-year-old became engaged to Chilton last year after his earlier plans to marry Seventies screen star Colleen Camp came to an end. Camp, now 73, is 33 years older than Moore and the same age as his mother.
Moore is well known on the society circuit as a party planner with a flair for lavish events, having drawn celebrity guests such as Kate Moss, Sienna Miller and Harry Styles to his high-profile gatherings.
In contrast to his reputation for spectacle, the wedding itself was notably discreet. The couple married in the spring at St Sophia’s Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Bayswater, with news of the ceremony only now emerging publicly.
A source close to the newlyweds told Our News Outlet that the occasion was “attended by a small group of close friends and family”.
Chilton wore a refined white satin gown for the May ceremony. Her engagement to Moore followed the breakdown of his previous engagement to actress Colleen Camp.
Moore and Camp had previously announced plans to wed in 2020, at a time when he was 34 and she was 67.

The Seventies pin-up, who appeared in films including Apocalypse Now, Clue and two of the Police Academy movies, attracted widespread attention due to the age gap, although she later insisted their proposed wedding was ‘a joke that went too far’, adding: ‘We never even kissed.’
Moore himself jokingly compared their romance to The Graduate, the 1967 film in which Dustin Hoffman’s young character is seduced by an older woman. Ms Camp described their relationship at the time as ‘magical’.
‘We have had a magical and wonderful relationship over the last few years,’ she told Our News Outlet’s Richard Eden in 2020. The pair are believed to have separated that year.
Moore subsequently returned his attention to the world of elaborate society events and soon found love with Ms Chilton, whom he met through mutual friends.
When they got engaged, a source close to the couple told Our News Outlet: ‘Garrett and Hope are a perfect match. She is warm, smart and unpretentious and they are incredibly happy together. Both families are delighted.’
Ms Chilton is the youngest of Richard and Maureen’s four children.
The London wedding party included Mr Chilton and Moore’s earl father, celebrated photographer Derry Moore, 89.
The bride’s father has an estimated fortune of more than $1billion and owns Crichel House, a Grade I-listed Georgian country estate in Dorset.
The estate was reported at the time to have attracted the interest of the then Prince Charles as a possible home for Prince William and Kate, before Richard and his wife Maureen bought it for a reported £34million in 2013.
The property includes the 25-room main house, 1,500 acres of parkland and 50 cottages. The mansion also provided a backdrop for the 1996 Oscar-winning film Emma, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Ewan McGregor.
Richard – a vice chairman of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York – and his wife have since extensively restored the historic house.
Moore is the younger son of the earl and his wife Alexandra, Countess of Drogheda, 73, a former producer at the BBC. His elder brother Ben Moore, 43, is Viscount Moore and heir to the earldom.
The earl has captured some of the world’s most famous figures, including the late Princess Diana and her sons Princes William and Harry when they were young.
Ms Chilton grew up in the US and attended the University of North Carolina before going on to work in the exclusive world of private members’ clubs.

Not dissimilar to Meghan Markle, the glamorous American is understood to have crossed the Atlantic to make a new life in the UK with her aristocratic husband – although Ms Chilton already had strong links to the country through her father.
She has worked in membership at Maxime’s, Robin Birley’s first New York private club, which opened in March last year on Madison Avenue.
Robin, a son of the late Lady Annabel Goldsmith and a longstanding friend of Moore’s father, has also collaborated with Moore professionally.
Through his events company, Moore has staged immersive events at Robin’s Mayfair flagship, 5 Hertford Street, famed for its discreet glamour and upper-crust clientele.
His clients have included Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Christie’s, with guests at his events including It-girls Poppy Delevingne and Alexa Chung.
One of his events at Loulou’s, the nightclub inside 5 Hertford Street, had an Alice Through The Looking Glass theme and featured a giant Humpty Dumpty, while a Tokyo-themed London Fashion Week party at the same venue saw guests including Harry Styles and Suki Waterhouse party in a bonsai forest while a cat café was installed in the toilets.
